Make them feel special:

Keep them involved:

Your flower girl may be little, but making her feel like one of the “big girls” will make her want to behave like a big girl during your ceremony- which is exactly what you want.  Invite her to the wedding shower, have her come with to test make-up and hairstyles, give her little responsibilities- like putting stamps on the invitations.  The more important she feels, the less likely she’ll be to act up on the big day. 

Have your ring bearer hang out with the groom’s men!  He’ll be more likely to wear his suit without a fuss if he sees the men wearing theirs. 

Make arrangements for bedtime:

If you’re having an evening wedding, make sure your flower girl and ring bearer get good naps, and not just on the big day.  Fatigue from lack of sleep is actually most apparent after 24 hours.  This means that their naps the day before your wedding are actually more important!  After the ceremony, make sure they have somewhere to go to sleep if they’re tired so they won’t be cranky at the reception.

Here are ten great tips that will make your day extra lovely while keeping Mother Nature happy:

1. -First, try to rent a reception hall that is located as close as possible to wherever you decide to hold the ceremony, this will cut back on the amount of driving your guests have to do, which will make them happy while keeping our air a bit cleaner. 
2. -Email your Save-the-Dates.  People will receive them and update their electronic calendars right then and there! 
3. -Use recycled paper for your invitations.  Nowadays, there are so many companies that have perfected the recycled paper invitation, it will look just as gorgeous as non-recycled, without sending you on a guilt trip. 
4. -If you aren’t in need of loads of gifts, don’t just register for a bunch of unnecessary things.  Instead, ask your guests to make donations to the charity of your choice in your name. 
5. -Find an organic florist, they can find ways to use wildflowers that are in season to create stunning, eco-friendly arrangements that will put all those cookie-cutter wedding florists to shame! 
6. -Use a caterer who serves locally raised meat.  It’s healtheir, tastier, and better for litteraly everyone.

7. -Afterwards, donate the dinner leftovers instead of throwing them out. 
8. -Rent real silverware instead of using plasticware (this looks so much more sophisticated).
9. -Use soy candles instead of wax, they burn longer and clearer. 
10. -Give out flower bulbs as wedding favors, or check out the National Arbor Day Foundation, where you can get small, plantable evergreen trees for your guests!  This is a gift they can actually cherish and enjoy for years, as opposed to all the usual cheap, plastic favors they’d just throw away.
